Kenton Black Finance have partnered with an award-winning business in Kendal who are looking to strengthen their finance team by recruiting a new Assistant Management Accountant. This is a new role which has been created due to growth and future plans.

There is excellent scope for career development in this role and is well suited to a career driven CIMA/ACCA studier seeking a varied and hands on role to compliment their studies. The role is expected to grow into a more senior finance position in the short to medium term, receiving guidance from an experienced Financial Controller.

Your new role as Assistant Management Accountant:

Working in a fast-paced finance environment, you will work closely with the Financial Controller and focus on supporting in the preparation of the management accounts pack including the balance sheet, profit and loss and all associated commentary and analysis. You will be responsible for balance sheet reconciliations; posting prepayments and accruals; preparation and review of quarterly VAT returns; and supporting the Accounts Assistant with sales and purchase ledger duties as required.

There will be a strong commercial element to the role in supporting with business plans and you will gain exposure to various upcoming projects including system developments and process improvements. You will also be required to build and maintain strong relationships with key partners across the business, providing insightful financial analysis as required.

Experience & Qualifications Required to Apply:

To be considered for this opportunity, you will already have good exposure to the month end accounting process and management accounts, and be keen to build on this experience further. You will be a strong Excel user (pivot tables and VLookups) with good analytical capabilities. Strong communication skills are essential as you will be required to work cross-functionally throughout the business being a key representative of the finance team.

Expected salary: £28000 – 30000 per year
