We have an exciting opportunity for a Cloud Architect to join us at Santander.

As a Cloud Architect you’ll be responsible for designing Cloud service solutions based on global and local architectural requirements. You’ll also bring your expertise in reducing the gap between complex problems and solutions and will be able to explain complex technical architectures and solutions, to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior management.

The difference you’ll make:

Designing and assuring appropriate solutions to reduce the risk of Cloud architecture change

Creating cloud reference architecture documents within the Architecture team

Designing Cloud service solutions based on global and local architectural requirements

Reviewing, championing and presenting designs and solutions from other Product teams to technical and non-technical audiences, including consultancy to improve architectures

What you’ll bring:

Enterprise architecture and governance experience

Deep understanding of a wide range of AWS services

Advanced understanding of networking, both in public cloud as well as physical infrastructure

Knowledge of the process, tools and methods for network architecture and design; ability to capture requirements and translate them into blueprints for wireline, wireless and hybrid network infrastructure

Experience working with high level stakeholders

It would also be nice for you to have:

Basic understanding of Microsoft Azure

Previous experience in the banking industry

Experience with modelling tools like draw.io/Visio

This role is based in Milton Keynes and our current expectation is at least 2 days in an office every week.

1st Stage – An hour long virtual interview consisting of technical questions.

2nd Stage – An hour long face to face, or virtual interview consisting of competency based questions.

Eligible for a discretionary performance-related annual bonus

We put 8% of salary into your pension, even if you don’t contribute yourself. We’ll pay in up to 12.5% of salary, if you contribute as well, and you can take some of our contribution in cash if you prefer
