REPORTS TO: Mgr – Campus SPED or Principal, and Director of Special Education

POSITION TYPE: 10-month

START DATE: 22-23 School Year

COMPENSATION: $54,000 – $64,294

THE ROLE

When you join the YES Prep team, some of the exciting work and responsibilities will include:

  • Scheduling Admission, Review and Dismissal (ARD) meetings;
  • Monitoring ARD paperwork completed by campus personnel;
  • Ensuring that federal/state timelines are met with respect to functions of ARD Committee meetings;
  • Completing lists, forms, reports, PEIMS forms, and data required by the Special Education
  • Providing systematic communication among special and general education personnel
  • Completing all applicable ARD paperwork;
  • Following procedures for progress reporting, folder documentation, parent communication, etc.;
  • Maintaining thorough documentation of concerns for special education students
  • Attending relevant professional development;
  • Collaborating with the Campus Testing Coordinator to schedule and ensure correct testing materials and accommodations are implemented;
  • Performing duties assigned by the Manager of Campus SPED;
  • Additional duties as assigned.

MUST HAVES

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
  • Experience in using a data management system (i.e. Easy IEP)
  • Experience in analyzing and collecting student data
  • Basic understanding in Microsoft Office programs
  • Understanding in Special Education Law
  • Experience in chairing/facilitating and ARD meeting
  • Previous experience in providing trainings to staff members
  • Belief in and commitment to the mission and core value of YES Prep Public Schools
  • Openness to giving and receiving frequent feedback

– This position is an exempt, salaried position; offers commensurate with experience.

Please note, part-time hourly employees (working fewer than 40 hours/week) do not receive pay during system closures. Additionally, 10- and 11-month hourly employees do not receive pay during the months in which they are not working.
