To these ends, the Museum Service develops and grows its collection, which reflect the lives of people of all lived experiences, resident or working in the borough both past and present. Our collections consist mainly of archaeology and local social history including photographs, artworks and archival material.

The role will act as a point of expertise and advice at many levels and act as the liaison between the museum service and local and regional museum professional networks and associations.

You will work in a small, friendly team where supporting colleagues with service delivery is a fundamental requirement. Role-modelling excellent customer service and advocacy is expected when welcoming visitors, delivering talks and running event activities.

You will act as deputy to the Museum Manager who you will work closely with on exhibitions, projects and forward planning. You will also directly manage a team of dedicated collections management volunteers as well as volunteer guides for both Mill Green Museum and Welwyn Roman Baths, providing training to deliver excellent experiences for our visitors.
