Based in either London, Leeds or Manchester, a premium, international business law firm, recognised as one of the most innovative in Europe, are looking for an enthusiastic In-house Copywriter to join their award-winning team on a 12 month fixed term contract basis. The firm has a modern, inclusive and approachable culture and are committed to providing an environment where people are developed and valued. This role sits within the Marketing and Business Development team, whose focus in on helping the firm’s expert Partners and other lawyers to build their brand, communicate persuasively, win business and develop client relationships. The role holder will be expected to write persuasive marketing content and propositions. You will be responsible for overhauling the firm’s web pages and accompanying web and social content to boost their SEO and help to sell their services and to tell the firm’s story with higher impact. The In-house Copywriter will enjoy excellent hybrid working arrangements and will work alongside Partners and Business Development professionals to identify persuasive sales messages for a sequence of service lines, legal practices and other parts of the firm including Diversity Equity & Inclusion and Corporate Social Responsibility. You will convert these sales messages into compelling pages on the firm’s website in the most engaging, resonant way possible and will be required to write accompanying case studies and other marketing content to reinforce the effectiveness of the sales messages and subsequently work with the internal digital and design team to publish your pages and content. In addition, the successful applicant will tasked with the authorship of compelling invitations for client events, boosting read rates and event registrations, and from time to time will be asked to interview the firm’s lawyers and delve into the technical aspects of what they do, in order to write accompanying articles or posts. An enthusiastic, can-do, team player, you will have strong experience working as a writer in a B2B setting, whether freelance, client-side or agency-side. Some experience in Professional Services, Financial Services, Real Estate or Technology, would be desirable, but is not essential. The In-house Copywriter must be able to help the firm convey sales messages in a in a client-centric way and must be confident in their ability to write persuasively and in plain English in a way that will appeal to senior business Executives. The ideal candidate will also be able to get into the detail of specific legal groups quickly and make things happen and will ideally be familiar with the basic tenets of keywording to boost Search Engine Optimisation.
